Three Ways to Help Your Community Over the Holidays
Updated: Nov 30, 2021

The holidays are a wonderful time of year, but it's difficult for some families and you and your supporters can help. Another way to give back? Give your awesome teachers the holiday bonus they deserve. Here are a few ways to do good in your community using your built-in MemberHub tools.
1. Set up a Virtual Giving Tree.
Use your MemberHub online store for good! Work with your guidance counselor to gather anonymous information for kids who might not otherwise receive gifts this year. For example, maybe your community has an 8-year-old boy who would love a bike, a 10-year-old girl who really wants that Tamagatchi Pix, and a 6-year-old girl who won’t stop asking for an L.O.L Surprise! Doll.
See below just how easy it is to set up individual store entries for all of these wonderful kids, and let your generous community members give them the holiday of their dreams! Once all of the donations have been received, a designated PTA member can shop for the items and work with the guidance counselor to distribute the gifts anonymously. A wonderful way to spread cheer!

2. Raise Money for Grocery Store Gift Cards.
Make sure no one in your community goes hungry over the holidays. You can collect donations in your online store to purchase grocery store gift cards for local families in need. Your generous members want to help and will love the opportunity to put food on the tables of their neighbors.
Create one online store entry with a minimum donation of $10 and send the link to your supporters. Once all donations have been received, purchase the gift cards and work with your guidance counselor to anonymously distribute them. See below how to set this up in just a couple of minutes.

3. Crowdfund for Your Teachers.
We can all agree that it’s been a very difficult 2 years for our teachers. They love the cute homemade gifts and coffee mugs, and they love a holiday bonus to spend how they wish! Maybe it’ll go toward a much-needed vacation or a trip to the spa, or even school supplies. With a crowdfunding campaign dedicated to them, they’ll get to choose.
Set up fun donation levels: $25 would buy pizza delivery for a teacher; $100 would buy a weighted blanket to help your teacher relax, etc. You can even encourage friendly competition by having the grade levels compete against each other to raise the most for their teachers.
