What is an Online Auction and How Does It Work?
There are a few definitions for the term "Auction." According to Google, they are as follows:
a public sale in which goods or property are sold to the highest bidder.
sell or offer for sale at an auction.
The term "Auction" used in a sentence: "The books are expected to fetch a six-figure sum at tomorrow's auction."
When you bid on an item on eBay, you've entered into an Auction. The person with the highest bid wins (even if you didn't entirely expect to be the highest bidder!) You may even have memories of watching car auctions on TV shows where the auctioneer speaks a thousand words a minute, and you see a bunch of people holding up paddles with numbers.
